Glossop ladies section is made up of a friendly group of ladies who play regular 18 and 9 hole competitions on a Wednesday morning. We also have an alternate day for our competitions, which is Sunday. This is for those ladies who cannot play on a Wednesday but who still want to play competitive ladies golf. Scores gained on a Sunday are then amalgamated with those of the Wednesday ladies to create the main competition of the week.

We play a range of competitions during the season and in Winter. We have recently become part of the Tameside League which enables us to play a variety of other local clubs throughout the summer.

During the season, we play friendly matches with a couple of local clubs and also have away days at other clubs.
Regular presentation evenings are held at the club, together with Christmas, end of year meals and AGM.

We have a very pro -active professional who is working hard to establish our Ladies into Golf scheme. This is available to all ladies who want to look at taking up golf as a new hobby. He also runs two weekly sessions with current ladies who want to generally improve their golf. To make sure that he can reach as many ladies as possible, one session is held in the evening and another one during the day.

We are also a holder of the Women in golf Charter.

At the moment we have two special offers on ladies membership. One is for the new ladies who come into the club through our ‘Ladies into Golf’ scheme with our pro; the other scheme is called ‘Stay and Play’ which is for ladies with handicaps. See membership offers on the website. *

A range of membership offers are available. It is possible to take up a 7-day membership so that you can play competitive golf on Wednesday, Saturday or Sunday.

Ladies into Golf scheme. For ladies who are new to golf we are able to offer introductory courses with the pro to start your golfing career off. You are then helped with your pathway into golf by the scheme below. Experienced lady members would also support you with a mentoring scheme.
